Crazy Prego Woman Hiking at Cypress

We had our first weekend without Ethan and I had told Brian that he had to keep me busy or I would miss him too much. So we had this grand idea to go for a hike after we had spent the previous day in Seattle. We ventured up to Cypress as I had found a hike, in our guide to best walks/hikes in BC, that was supposed to be an easy three hour hike. However, when we got there we talked with one of the guys that worked there (he had stopped us to ask us about our car, since he was looking into getting something bigger than his golf) and he suggested we do this other hike which was a four hour "moderate" hike. It was in the snow and up hill (not hill as you find in the prairies - so more accurate mountain, especially since people go there to ski) which at any other time would be fabulous but I would not recommend it for a prego woman. We made it to the top and I am so glad because the view was spectacular and I felt quite accomplished by tackling this adventure (particularly since I am finding stairs to be a workout).

Excitement at Keats

We were at Keats on the weekend and it was full of excitement. There was an accident and a helicopter flew in to air lift the man to the hospital. On top of that they had a hoovercraft bring him over to the helicopter since they thought it would be too rough transporting via truck. So everyone was out with their kids checking out the scene. They both left at the same time so we were standing on the dock trying to decide which one to watch leave the island.

Ethan had the oppotunity to sit in the helicopter. He had just woken up from him nap so he was a bit stunned taking in all the action.

We had fireworks the night before at Gibbsons that we watched from our deck. And then on Sunday we were told that there was a Norwalk virus at the camp so we were not to come up for church.

Singing in the Rain

We had a family BBQ on Tuesday and Ethan enjoyed
playing with the "umbella"

Family Time at Keats

May long Weekend we went to Keats to get some R&R.

Prego Pic

As has been requested here is a pic of my pregers with the soon to be proud big brother. I am now starting my 7th month and cannot get over how fast time is going. Things have been going well though busy. I guess most of you have given up on my blog as it has been ages since I have blogged. Facebook has taken over and personally I prefer to spend time with Ethan than computer time. We are getting excited to add to our family and see how we all adjust to the new member.

Fun at the Beach

Canada Day

We went to Harrison Lake as a family. Here is a pic
of grandma and Ethan enjoying our picnic.

Bubbles

Ethan loves blowing and chasing after bubbles. We have been enjoying our backyard alot the past few weeks now that summer has arrived.

CHEESE

Ethan's new thing is when you have the camera out taking pictures is to say "cheese" and strike a pose with his hand on his cheak. It the cutest thing and I wanted to share this adorable pic with everyone. He is growing into this little man so quickly and I am enjoying watching him learn and develop as his personality shines through.

Staying cool in the pool

Beach Time

We enjoyed our afternoons on the beach after having mornings by the pool. What a way to spend Christmas. I loved having a "White" sand Christmas. Ethan loved every minute we all had such a blast.

Sand Castles

What a fabulous place.

Mayan Ruins

Brian and I enjoyed our time at Chichen Itza the Mayan Ruins outside of Cancun. The history was very impressive and we were surprised to see how many ruins were still there. in true Mexican style there were many people trying to sell their items along side the road between the sites. It was fun to check out all the neat stuff.

Thanksgiving at Keats

Thanksgiving

We are so blessed to have such a loving family and they are almost all out our way - soon enough Caleb will be joining us!!!! This is me with my cousins on the Klassen side. Great grandpa is teaching Ethan how to play piano. Some of his brilliant pieces are recorded on the paino.

I am so adorable

I can fly

Ethan and Brian love to play together. Brian has created our little Ethan to be an adrenaline junkie. He will be the kid who loves to go on fast rides. This was taken when we went camping at Rolley Lake near Mission, BC. It was our first camping expereince with Ethan - which went great during the day but the night was not the most restful. I guess will have to make another go of it next summer.

Check out my new toy

Tools

Ethan and his grandpa trying to put his toy together. Hopefully Ethan will take after his dad and not his mom or grandpa in that he will actually read the instructions not just feel his way through things

Red Wagon

Ethan loves playing and getting into everything and finding out how things works. He will play with the wheels or anything that does something.

Birthday

Ethan turned 1 on September 26th. We had several of our friends and family over to celebrate as his granparents would say the event of the year. I made froggie cupcakes that eveyone seemed to enjoy though my healthy little guy - who has not eaten anything other than what is suggested by the many books out there say to eat - did not seem as into the sugar thing - which makes me very happy! Though it could have been because he had a bit of a high temperature and was not feeling himself that day. He loved learning how to rip paper and play with the boxes his great presents came in.

say cheese

I find that I am always behind the camera taking pictures of the amazing things that Ethan is doing so I dont have many pictures with Ethan. Thankfully with the digital camera we have a tilted screen so I can see what I am doing and take some half decent pics while pointing the camera at us rather than cutting out our heads like I would without having a frame of reference. Some people have that gift but I need the visual to know how to point the camera.

he is walking

I wanted to take family pictures at Mill Lake for Christmas cards - which some of you will be recieving in the next month. So Ethan's Uncle James and Antie Andrea came to take our family pictures. While there Ethan is enjoyed walking around at the park. I think he is going to be like his parents and love the great outdoors. It is such an amaxing thing to watch him learn to take steps and his confidence grows every day.

Summer Highlights

Ethan enjoyed his pool in our backyard this summer. Though these dips were chilly to the body he got used to the water and loved to splash and kick. Along with trips to the beach - Harrison, Cultas, Aldergrove puddle, runs, walks, bike rides, and swings at the park, Keats, and numerous other outings. He is going to be trying to enjoy the rest of the summer and his time with his mommy before she has to go back to work at the end of September which makes him very sad to think about. Hope you enjoy the pics and sorry that it has taken me so long.
